Nov. 22, 2020 Worship Service - Christ the King Weekend

This year we are hosting “Dough Holy Night”—a deliciously fun family experience with the true meaning of Christmas baked in. Together you’ll bake a batch of Christmas cookies and, along the way, hear the story of the very first Christmas. There’s minimal preparation and a video that leads you step-by-step through the entire experience. It’s so easy!

Help beautify our sanctuary during Advent by purchasing Poinsettia plants in honor or in memory of loved ones for $8 each. Sign Up/payment envelopes are on bulletin boards throughout the church and can be returned in the offering during each worship service. The deadline to order is Nov. 23. For more information, contact Karen Lange at margo0452@aol.com or (616) 607-8025.

Middle school students at St. John's Lutheran School filled shoeboxes as part of Operation Christmas Child.

In this time of online buying, we wanted to remind you that SCRIP is available to order online and it will be shipped to your home. There is an app called RaiseRight that can be downloaded to help make things even easier. It's time to start your Christmas shopping and what better way to help support St John's Lutheran school at the same time?

Every Thursday, we share pictures from our past. While they vary from activities and members to documents and newspaper articles, it gives us a chance to reflect on how we are living, learning and serving together at St. John’s Lutheran Church & School.

St. John’s Lutheran Church & School is an official drop-off site for Toys for Tots. Between now and Dec. 18, you can drop off a new unwrapped toy for local families in the main lobby.

We had an opportunity to bless and pray over the Prayer Shawls and Quilts during our worship services this weekend. Thank you to our volunteers for all of the work and love they put into this ministry.

At this point, I really don’t care to hear who you voted for. What I care about more than anything else is who it is that you truly follow. May it always be Jesus. (See Matthew 4:19 & Matthew 16:24.)
