    The Board of Social Ministries is collecting diapers to support Positive Options. The drive starts on Mother’s Day, May 11, and ends on Father’s Day, June 15. A collection table will be setup in the Social Hall.

  • Eyeglass Collection

    June 1-30

    It’s time to start collecting your old eyeglasses and non-prescription sunglasses for the eyeglass drive taking place from June 1- 30.

    These will be sent to MOST (Mission Opportunities Short Term) Ministries where they will be used for eye clinics. A collection box will be placed in the Social Hall.

  • Spring Cleanup

    The weather is warming up, which means it’s time to clean up the St. John’s campus. Join us 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, June 7, to spruce up the grounds. Please bring wheelbarrows, rakes, and other helpful outdoor tools. Many hands make light work!

  • Church Picnic

    The Fellowship/Evangelism Board is hosting a church picnic on Sunday, June 8 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Hofma Park. This event will feature a Tropical Theme, a steel drum band, a cornhole tournament and much more. Details to follow.

    As you do your spring cleaning, keep the Rummage Sale in mind! As you consider what to donate, please keep in mind that donations should be clean and in good condition. Please, no large appliances. You’re welcome to drop off donations at the church 4-7 p.m. June 11 and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 12. The sale will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 13, and 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. June 14. Cash and credit card will be accepted! The Ladies Aid appreciates all donations and volunteers.   • Positive Options Walk for Life

    Join us for Walk4Life on Saturday, June 21st, 2025—a fun, family-friendly event where every step supports life, hope, and healing. This is more than a walk—it is a prayer walk, with three dedicated stops along the path where we’ll pause to pray for our clients, our centers, and the impact of this ministry. Walk with purpose. Walk for moms, dads, babies—and for a community where every life is valued. (This is a fundraiser, but you do not need to register or contribute funds to attend.)   • Service Saturday

    June 28, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

    Ladies Aid is once again sponsoring a service opportunity on Saturday, June 28 from 9am – 1pm. Come when you can and stay for whatever time you want. Men, women, and youth are all invited as help is needed in several areas. Fleece blankets – tying (no sewing skills needed) or sewing them. Fleece material provided; fabric scissors helpful. These will be donated to Foster Closet or Juvenile Detention Center. Kitchen Cupboards – finish cleaning the church’s kitchen cupboards. Especially needed is help reaching the upper shelves and strong arms for lifting. Small buckets and gloves helpful for cleaning. Creating Greeting Cards – these will be used to send to shut ins, church members and care facilities. Materials and guidance provided. Color, stamp designs or put on stickers. Learn how to be wise and generous in ways that honor Him and bless others. Josh will also be available for free, one-on-one estate planning consultations from Monday through Wednesday following the presentation. All LCMS members in the Grand Haven area are welcome.     You are invited to join us for our Superhero Summerama! We are hosting our FREE two-day event 5-7 p.m. July 14 & 15. We will provide dinner, activities, a Bible message, and crafts. Children ages 3 and younger require a parent. Children who register by June 29 will receive a FREE gift.

  • Jr. High Youth Gathering

    August 12-14

    Frankenmuth, Michigan

    Junior High Gathering will take place 8/12/25-8/14/25, registration is open April 1st – May 11th. Please plan to join us at the Bavarian Inn Lodge and Kern Pavilion in Frankenmuth for an unforgettable time with mass gatherings, fun activities, music, and access to the brand-new waterpark! 2025 theme is "Together". As followers of Jesus, it is important to gather around God’s Word, love all people, serve those in our lives, and encourage our fellow followers to walk in God’s grace and light. All of that is better together. All of that is easier together. God designed us to be together. So, let’s get together at the Jr. High Youth Gathering and celebrating God’s grace and mercy together! The cost is $75 per student. More details coming soon—mark your calendars and get ready for an amazing event!

  • Fall Retreats

    Looking for a weekend to rest and be refreshed in the midst of the busy fall season? Camp Arcadia’s women’s retreats are just what you need! The first women’s retreat is on September 12-14 with guest speaker Gretchen Ronnevik. The second women’s retreat is on September 19-21 with guest speaker Jan Struck (Limited Availability) Cost for onsite adults (18+) $275 per adult, minimum deposit $125. Camp Arcadia offers two different men’s retreats each season: the Lutheran Laymen League (LLL) Men’s Retreat and the Arcadia Men’s Retreat. LLL Men’s Retreat is on September 4-7 with guest speaker David Davis. The second men’s retreat is on September 26-28 with guest speaker Andy Root with Gabe Kasper, Chaplain. LL Men’s Retreat cost for onsite adults (18+) $290per/adult Arcadia Men’s Retreat cost for onsite adults (18+) $275 per/adult, minimum deposit $125. Whether playing basketball, walking through the woods, or enjoying an ice cream cone, Camp Arcadia’s Fall Jr. High Retreat is for 6th through 8th grade students. The goal of the retreat is to assist, encourage, and challenge teens- to live and grow as God’s people-in a Christian Community. The Jr. High retreat is on October 10 – 12 with guest speaker Scott Giger.
