What We Believe

As a congregation of The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, what we believe and teach at St. John's is what God reveals to us through His Word (the Holy Bible) which points us to the saving grace that has been given in and through the life, death, and resurrection of His Son -- our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  For more information about what we believe and teach at St. John's Lutheran, we encourage you to check out the following website: www.lcms.org/about/beliefs.

Worship with Us

St. John's Lutheran offers three opportunities to worship on any given weekend -- each differing from the others while sharing in the rich, liturgical tradition of Lutheran worship and offering an opportunity to share in the Lord's Supper. All three services are built upon the truth that God comes to us in worship through His Word and Sacraments -- where He gives us grace and we respond in praise and thanksgiving.

Our 5 p.m. Saturday service is a modified version of our 8:15 a.m. (Sunday morning) service. While following a liturgical format, our Saturday evening atmosphere is a bit more casual.

Our 8:15 a.m. Sunday service maintains a traditional liturgical format that is characteristic of Lutheran Worship -- following one of the Divine Service settings found within the Lutheran Service Book. This service is accompanied by an organ and often includes the use of cantors and choirs, as well as, occasional instrumentalists, while maintaining the historical elements of Divine Worship.

Our 10:30 a.m. Sunday service blends the elements of tradition with contemporary music. While it, too, follows a liturgical format typical of Lutheran Worship, songs are led by a praise team and a variety of instrumentals that are not found in our other worship services. This service also incorporates the use of screens and modern technology for the purpose of encouraging overall participation.

Please Note: Throughout the year, St. John's also offers other worship opportunities, especially during the seasons of Advent and Lent.
